Our brief was to design and deliver a durable public toilet facility for a high-use recreation area, where vandal resistance, safety, and low maintenance were key priorities.

Melville Park, Hamilton

Melville Park is a busy community space, home to a skate park, basketball court, and a steady flow of daily visitors. The new public toilet needed to support this level of activity while standing up to the realities of a high-use environment.
We designed and delivered a two-pan precast concrete facility, built with durability and performance in mind. The structure features a mono-pitch concrete roof, tiled wall finishes, Degafloor flooring, and electronic auto-locking doors to support security and ease of use.
Given the nature of the site, materials and finishes were carefully selected to handle heavy use and reduce ongoing maintenance. A heavy-duty baby change table was also incorporated, ensuring the facility caters to a wide range of users within the community.
Installation required coordination around long-distance service connections, with additional trenching and service runs needed to connect into existing infrastructure. Through careful planning and delivery, the result is a robust, low-maintenance facility that integrates seamlessly into a well-used public space.
